Not only does the employee feel the pressure of the presenting issue, but there is also additional worry of letting other work colleagues down can be compounded by the fear that their professionalism will judged, and that they are not able to fulfil family commitments, or that their personal circumstances becomes strained.
Counselling (and other therapies) can be provided to make a significant difference to employees, and can be a key way for an employer to show they care for their employees, as an effective human resources strategy.
